Dr. Tito Bacarese-Hamilton – LifeScan - Johnson & Johnson

Tito Bacarese-Hamilton is currently Vice President, New Products and Platforms for LifeScan Scotland. In his role, Tito has responsibility for the full-scale development and commercial launch of all new product platforms. He provides the leadership and development direction globally across R&D and is the prime interface with manufacturing operations for the production scale-up of new, multi-product sensing platforms that are critical to LifeScan's strategic growth objectives and the needs of our customers. Tito oversees R&D’s development of design for manufacturability expertise and ensures that our development projects deliver on our customers’ critical to quality (CTQ) needs.

Tito’s responsibilities include the development of new products and platforms for insulin using diabetics, as well as the development of new hardware and architectural designs that deliver customer benefits. More broadly, he manages the technology hand-off and transition to full-scale development for all future NPI programs emanating from the Advanced Technology organization within R&D.

Tito brings more than 20 years of research and industrial experience in the medical and life sciences areas. He has a broad-based background in medical research and diagnostic product development, biotechnology, drug development programs and general management. He is an acknowledged expert in the field of in vitro diagnostics and has launched numerous products in many clinical fields.

Most recently, Tito was CEO and co-founder of Microtest Matrices Ltd, a protein chip company. Prior to this role, he held senior R & D positions at Ares-Serono and Amersham International.
