The Team

David Sarphie is a biotechnology entrepreneur with over 13 years experience in project management, senior management and CEO positions within start-up drug-delivery, diagnostics and medical device companies.

Mike is a medicinal chemist with over ten years postdoctoral experience in research, project management and consulting. He began his scientific career at DERA (now DSTL) Porton Down developing optical biosensors for the detection of toxins and pathogens.

Marian brings to BNC more than 15 years of experience in biosensors, nanotechnology, and medical device platforms for life science, drug discovery and diagnostics sectors. Marian is a chemist and holds a doctorate in biochemistry.

Felicity Sartain studied for a MChem in Chemistry with Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals at the University of York that included a years’ industrial placement at GlaxoSmithKline. Whilst in her placement at GSK her research was focussed around the development of novel detection techniques to enhance the drug discovery process.

Nanda has worked in office management for over 10 years and ensures the smooth day to day running of the BNC office. Her responsibilities within BNC cover HR and financial management functions, including invoicing and supplier management.

BNC has a small team of Scientific Consultants, each of whom provide expertise and knowledge to deliver rational and practical solutions to our clients. Currently the team is focussed on working on two of our key projects investigating Nanocatalysts for Waste Water Treatment and Layered Double Hydroxides for the synthesis of Fine Chemicals.
