Bio Nano Consulting (BNC), together with its academic partners at the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN), has spearheaded the use of nanomechanical sensors known as “cantilevers” to analyse in detail the mechanism of action of a new antibiotic that holds promise as one of the few antibiotics that can be used to combat increasingly resistant infections such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
